I was supposed to be visiting family for a few days in Somerset along with my mum and 13 year old daughter, my clutch suddenly went on a roundabout in Bristol so my mum and myself pushed the car off the roundabout into a slightly safer area. I reported my car as broken down at 1531hrs on Thursday 13th April.  I was told a Recovery Flatbed is going to recover myself the other 2 passengers and my car 200 miles to my local garage where I live, we waited several hours before being told as it's 200 miles away and too far to be recovered I was to leave my car unlocked and the keys in the dash and they will pick it up at 2130 that night to take to a safe lockup and a hire car from Enterprise was arranged for 24 hours to drive us home. We waited until 2130 that night and still my car was not picked up, I had real concerns about leaving it unlocked but I was told again by the RAC that recovery is on its way and should be there in 15 minutes, I began the drive home as I was becoming tired after having been on the road since 11am and it was now 2130, I arrived home at 0130 in the morning (14 hours after first leaving home)  I have phoned RAC a further 21 times since (it's is now Monday 17th April) and not one person has told me when my car is going to be picked up from the side of the road, let alone when it is going to be dropped off at my garage, the car is still unlocked, unsafe and I can't even book into a garage because I don't know when my car is going to be returned and if it is going to be in one piece still, I have had to pay for the fuel for the hire car out of my own pocket, I then had to walk 19 miles altogether to get the hire car back and home again.  I have school runs and work  which I am now unable to do, my mum lives 80 miles from me and now can't get home, and I live in the middle of nowhere so I can't even get to a shop, and still I'm none the wiser as to what is happening with my car. I have been told at least 20 times that my case has been escalated and I am going to be called back from a manager or the Logistics Team, not once in all this time has anybody called me back at all. I have now had to phone my daughters headmaster to tell them I can't get my own child to school as I live in the middle of nowhere with no buses etc and my daughters school is 10 miles away, I have had to call the police to inform them my car is stranded at the side of a housing estate incase somebody reports it as an abandoned car, this is like a living nightmare and I am no closer to getting my car back let alone getting it fixed, I can't even get a courtesy car through my insurance because my car has to be in a garage, but I honestly have absolutely no idea where in the country my car is at the moment, I can only assume it is still where it was left 4 days ago Nobody can give me an answer, and of all the promises of a call back I have not had one, apart from yesterday when an RAC lady phoned me to inform me that the courtesy car was only for 24 hours, which I already knew about as I had already returned the car 2 days before her phone call. Just to top it off, I have been told that if there is any damage to my car, I will be held responsible as I agreed to leave it unlocked and unattended, despite the three promises of it being picked up that night, I had absolutely no choice but to leave it, I had a tired family that I still needed to now drive 200 miles get them back, so all in all an 8 hour drive, and 14 hours in total sat in a car, we'd still be sat there now 4 days later otherwise. After around 30 calls to the RAC and not one return call, finally a lady just now let slip on the phone as to who is now dealing with my car (it is now 18th April 23)not forgetting I have asked this question continuously, she apparently couldn't give me a contact number and acted very sheepishly after she mentioned these contractors name, so I immediately googled them and found they are in Bristol with a 24 hour contact number. A man answered almost immediately and was helpful from the very start, he said my car was only reported yesterday!!!!!! They picked it up yesterday and it's now safe and sound in Sussex near Brighton somewhere, it seems it's all in one piece, they've taken photos, no scratches, no obvious damage and my keys were still in the glove compartment, they will be dropping it off to the garage at some point tomorrow, he was absolutely gobsmacked that the RAC couldn't tell me this themselves, he said that's absolutely rubbish that they don't have their contact number, he said they ring them non-stop, it took a 3 minute phone call for him to tell me literally everything I wanted to know. My car has now been drooped off at the garage, Tuesday 18th April, 5 days after breaking down, what I want to know is why the Logistics company only found out about my car 4 days after it had broken down
