Platinum what a joke
Purchased a £20K Car - and a Platinum RAC warranty at a cost of £1100.00 with a repair cost value of £5k. Tried to get through on phone for a whole day. Lines down. When we do get through told it has to go to an approved repairer, but we have to ring round and find one (Not a Platinum Service so far !)
Get a garage eventually but have to wait a week to take car in.. No car as nasty Noise coming from rear Tyres axle. We hire a car. £350 a week.
Car goes in and they confirm its the rear differential and the pump- Garage send videos and report to RAC .
Not good enough they want pictures of tyres. Send them. It has a brand new MOT so tyres all fine. All this takes time and time and we are paying for a hire car
Not good enough they want a transmissions specialist report to find cause of failure - garage have told them this (suspect they cant kick claim out on that, so are looking for a reason). We have only done 1800 miles in car - it has 60k miles on clock a rear diff should last 150k miles.
They then say after 2 weeks email ping pong that they will cover the reasonable cost of this transmission specialist report . Not what a reasonable cost is, and will not proceed without it.
Never get a straight answer, always going to refer to an Engineer
Whole service set up to try and get out of claims not help the customer get back on the road.
Have raised a complaint and will be taking further as they are taking exorbitant amounts of money under false pretences.
The repair costs £4k the Policy £1100 Drop in the ocean to them
