Under my Citroen warranty I had breakdown cover with the RAC which I tried to use when I suffered damage to the side wall of my rear offside tyre.
It happened mid evening on a country road and I managed to get to my son's which was a couple of miles away before the tyre fully deflated. I contacted the RAC through my Citroen App and fully explained the situation.
I wasn't expecting them to come up with a new tyre at that time of night but they gave me the impression that help would come. Hours later they told me they couldn't help me that night so would I cancel the call and reapply the next day. I asked why the job could not be forwarded instead of having to cancel and was given the excuse that a live call would prevent someone else from getting help. I suspect this was a ploy to keep their waiting time statistics down and did absolutely nothing to help me. They gave me a number to ring for resurrecting the call but when I tried that the next day I was at the back of a busy queue and even when my call was taken the whole process of finding a suitable tyre etc would have had to be started from scratch. Thankfully I had got the car to a safe place and was able to get help from another source. An extremely disappointing experience with the RAC
