I needed a new battery for my car. As I was a member of the RAC I went to their battery replacement website, put in my registration and their website presented me with a list of 'the most suitable batteries' for my car. As the list was quite long, I just chose the first on the list, irrespective of cost, naively believing that the RAC would know what they were talking about. When the mechanic arrived he bluntly told me I had ordered the wrong battery!!! He fitted an alternative - that he said was still not 'ideal' but would 'do the job'. 4 Months later we have a series of electrical issues - so I call the RAC out again - and this time Im accused by their very surly mechanic of having ordered the wrong battery again! I showed him HIS website and HIS companies recommendations but he just said 'thats just a list mate - it doesnt mean its the right one for your car!!' I sent him away and will cancel my membership - JOIN THE RAC AT YOUR OWN RISK - they are a bunch of amateurs trading of a 'Royal' kite mark.
