I’ve been an RAC member for a long time and have experienced horrendous service recently with a service I purchased. I chose to go with them for a car inspection but needed to cancel the inspection the day before after an hour of booking it because my car dealership decided they suddenly wanted a £1,000 deposit which I didn’t have. I called RAC to cancel and finally got through at 12:20 just 20 minutes after the cut off time to cancel. They have cancelled it so I never got the service the next day yet they will not refund my money. It was not my fault I had to cancel it and 20 minutes over the cut off period is such a short time they could have done it as a gesture of goodwill. I will get my breakdown cover elsewhere from now on and I will NEVER go to RAC for any other product. The treatment I received is horrendous and I’m now out of pocket for a service I haven’t used.
