RAC left me stranded alone for over 7 hours on a dark motorway after promising a properly equipped team would attend my breakdown. They knew I had a stripped locking wheel nut — they sent a basic van with no tools, no ability to help, and a rude, dismissive patrolman who then pressured me into paying £117 for a recovery I should never have needed. Their complaints process has been even worse — cold, closed-off, and completely lacking in accountability or basic human decency. As a lone female left vulnerable by their incompetence, the risk they exposed me to was appalling. Offering a pathetic £30 “gesture” was a final insult. RAC doesn’t care about your safety. They don’t deliver the service they promise. They lie, they abandon you, and then they slam the door in your face when you dare to complain. If you value your safety, especially as a woman travelling alone, avoid RAC. They are an absolute disgrace of a company.
