I had been advised by email that this firm would be delivering my large screen TV on Thursday that week. on the Tuesday I got a text advising me "we will deliver today between 12 and 3" and I'd made plans to be out of London. so I immediately called on the number provided to cancel the delivery as I wouldn't be at home. The tone of whoever it was that I spoke to should have been a red flag .....he was saying all the right things ....ok we will come tomorrow or Thursday ......but something in his tone ..like amusement ..and he kept interjecting.. "Are you sure you don't want it delivered today?" I took time to patiently reply each time that I would be out of London for the day. Therefore I was shocked about 3.30 to get a call from a yob who claimed he was on my doormat with the TV. " im gonna leave it on the doormat" he said....I told him this delivery was cancelled and don't do that it will be stolen he said what about neighbours and I gave him the number of the flat opposite but I hadn't arranged with her he hung up and a few minutes later he called back to say the lights on but she s not answering Again his threat to leave it on my doormat, he was playing with me! but thankfully, by sheer luck Julie, my next door neighbour was off work for the day and accepted the delivery. I live in an inner city council block on a council estate and I'm not a rich woman and had saved and anticipated this new flat screen. Furthermore,I live in a block of flats on the fourth floor and for security reasons we have an intercom system to gain access. The delivery man had gained entry without my consent. I arrived home after 11pm and my neighbour knocked to deliver it , The huge box had been clearly stickered with FRAGILE THIS WAY UP red stickers and that my TV had been upended and the packaging was torn at the top corner. Disgusting service Spoiled my buying experience and distressing to deal with the situation by phone when I felt powerless to stop him dumping an expensive item on an open landing. one neighbour routinely padlocks his bike to the internal stairwell ...and that's been stolen twice! Customer service????? I do not like to be spoken to in that way when I'm paying you for a ser4vice!!! Why give customers a phone number to change the delivery time if you're going to do it any way without any apologies; and then to handle my package with total disregard for their responsibility to handle such items with care and attention?
