A positive internet shopping experience requires 3 elements to be in place: a good product, a good supplier and a good delivery process. In this case the product seems good in terms of use and value and the supplier was generally helpful in terms of support. However, the delivery company, XDP, polluted the whole experience. The bed was delivered as two parcels. XDP split these for no understandable reason and the slats were delivered without the remainder of the bed. XDP claimed that Royal Comfort Furniture had only sent the slats. This was denied by the supplier. A clue as to the dishonesty of the delivery company was that the slats arrived 2 hours after the scheduled time slot but the driver marked this on the tracker as arriving 3 hours earlier so that the schedule was ‘met’. Two days later the rest is delivered, again 2 hours beyond delivery slot. This is a delivery company that is clearly not fit for purpose, poorly serving its customers who may well have to waste time, energy and money chasing up the (non-) delivery of ferociously wild geese.
