I had a full trolley of shopping today at aldi in Biggleswade. I packed everything into trolley and paid in cash 2×£50 notes only to br told you do not accept legal tender in these notes. Was then assaulted by staff trying to prise the trolley from me. Absolutely disgusted by the actions of staff which could have resulted in a much worse situation had I not been a calm person. I left the trolley and will certainly never ship there again. I have never in 58 years had a shop refuse legal tender, I am not even sure it is legal to refuse legal tender
