I tried Nordpak for the first time, tastes just like Lurpak, but a hell of a lot cheaper, it still works out cheaper per KG to get the big tub of Flora Buttery in most shops, but when I want to treat myself I'll go for Aldi's stuff from now on instead of getting Lurpak, I also have some of their version of Anchor butter, but I haven't tried it yet. Oh, if you're looking for a nice treat you can keep in the freezer, grab the Triple Chocolate Gateaux, it tastes fantastic and it's really cheap, I'm not usually one for cakes, but the Gateaux does it for me.

I love Aldi as it close and convenient even though it doesn't stock much free range meat or ethnic choices. I love the plant based sausages and beefburgers . I bought Specially selected 6 lean pork sausages for a BBQ as it's been hot. They are tasteless and so much salt in the taste we had to throw them away. The amount of taste was nuts. I wish they sold real organic sausages.

Cash and card machine verbally told card only after paying cash failed to give change forced to pay by card 79 pence couldn't find key to open machine told they would have to check cctv for payment when someone else found the key the £1 coin paid had disappeared nit refunded £1 coin and wished that the coin stopped the machine working to frustrate them as much as they had me . Had to pay by card and left shop as no common sense or assistance was forthcoming. Customer care rating 0.

The new ASIA range very bad won’t be buying again waste of money. The sweet and sour chicken was soggy and the curry was like glue so thick awful.

We have shopped at Aldi for years. The quality is generally good. The big disappointment more recently has been the consistently poor quality of Maris Piper potatoes at the Glenrothes store. They are full of black bits possibly caused by long term storage and I found that only about 50% was edible. I have now started to shop elsewhere for this important staple.

I never received a reply to email: Dear Sirs, I was in Aldi Hounslow [Hospital Rd.] yesterday when your Employee, who said he was a security man, stopped a woman and asked her to open her shopping trolley to search what she had inside. I thought maybe she has done shoplifting and did not pay much attention. I was shopping with my 7 yr. old daughter. This man searched her bag and was rudely telling her that she was not allowed to bring her shopping trolley inside the shop. She said she did not know that she was not allowed to. I accept that it must be a supermarket rule and quite understandable, but his approach was totally wrong and rude against someone in her late 50's. She was Asian and he appeared Asian too. She was most upset and she told me that he was very rude to her. I felt that she was treated like a common thief. She returned after having left her bag and just with the shopping trolley. Again I saw them exchanging words, and he was with another shop attendant. I was in the same corridor. She still appeared most upset being challenged by the two of them. I felt a duty as a responsible citizen to speak on her behalf and said that I witnessed that he was very rude towards her and he should not speak to her in that wat as she is a customer. He told me that I should not interfere and asked me to leave the shop. I was shocked that he was dismissing me from the shop there and then just for having supported this unfortunate lady. My daughter and I were practically thrown out of your Aldi. My daughter was very upset as she has chosen her favourite sweets and had to leave it in the trolley. I was left shocked and dismayed and very upset. I am a pensioner and was treated so abruptly, unfairly, and felt so disgusted by the attitude of this security man, who could well have been the manager himself. When I asked who he was he refused to tell me or give me his name, saying that I don't need to know. I left my trolley there forgetting to take my £1 coin. Please can you return my £1 coin as I borrow it from my daughter who always keeps it for the shopping trolley? This man was well dressed, medium built, dressed in a black suit, too smart to be a security man, and oh yes, He also had a mustache, I think and was Asian like me. Please send him for a course in customer care and diplomacy, because no employee of this very much-loved supermarket can have an employee who is lacking in tactful approach, and blatantly rude. He just could not have been trained that way. I did tell him he needed further training. I am sorry if I upset him too but old ladies need to be protected from abuse, I think. Please don't forget to return my daughter's £1 coin. I write to you this mail as I do not want to feel upset if I speak to you on the phone. Many thanks. K. woodit

This is a review about the hiring process at Aldi. I applied for a role at one of the Oswestry stores in March, a very basic role might I add. Got invited for an "assessment" about a week later. I was given no more than a few days notice, and was offered a single half an hour time slot to 'choose from'. No other information was provided. That's when I should have saved my dignity. Fair enough, that wasn't a problem because I live across the road from the particular Aldi I applied for. So I walk in, 15 minutes early. To be told to stand by the packing bench and wait for the manager. 30 minutes later I'm still standing there like an absolute weapon. That was my second opportunity to save my dignity. Eventually I get called in for this ever mysterious 'assessment'. Which was, what I thought at least, a lovely chat with the store manager. Who told me I would hear back by the weekend (it was a Wednesday). Lo and behold, almost a month later, I've been told exactly nothing about where I stand. I've chased it up 3 times with their supposed customer service team, only to be told on every occasion that my message was passed onto the hiring manager. Just silence. This is the same store that I've shopped at for years. I don't know why they haven't responded. I'm literally sat here speculating. But what I can say with certainty, is that Aldi does not respect your time. Yet, as is their business model, expect everybody else to respect their time and get in and out of their shops as quick as possible. It's just disrespectful and a sad representation of the world we live in today. And I know this won't mean anything to them, but I won't be parting money with them again. I would urge others to take the same stance, because these lot are taking advantage of an overly saturated job market

Tried earls pâté dog food. My dog then developed severe diarrhoea with blood in it for three days. He was crying every time he pooped. Had to spend £84 on pro kolin to stop the diahorrea. Cheap dog food costs money in the long run.

Oakhurst Coq au Vin - Mother's Day special. Supposed to be for 2 people, but only 1 small piece of chicken ! Photo on packet showed 3 pieces of chicken and lots of mushrooms, but ours looked nothing like that. Not up to Aldi's usual high standard.

Norwich store has been reorganised with people just milling about or going round and round looking for products, and it takes some getting used to. Aldi is generally good, but some products - decaf coffee especially - never seem to be in stock. I Couldn’t even buy ordinary regular coffee this morning! If I can’t get even the basics….

Just want to say your Indian food selection in Aldi was really lovely. We had Hot Butter Chicken & Chicken Tikka Marsala, with lovely chutney & Raita Selection, Naan bread and rice. Excellent value and it tasted delicious. Thankyou, Rachel xx🙏

The bean and bacon wraps are a mistake. They might be okay when fresh baked, but having sat on a shelf for I have no idea how long the acidic sauce in which the beans were cooked appears to break down the bacon, soaking the pastry in uric acid which unfortunately makes the pastry and the beans taste like urine. An alternative worth researching might be the use of vegetarian bacon substitutes, the best of which are indistinguishable from products made from real dead animals.
