I bought something described as SALT DRY AGED ABERDEEN ANGUS 8oz in a fancy package so designed that it could not be easily identified.
I tried to fry it but it was so thin it stewed itself. There was some sort of watery blood which came to the top on one side.
I turned it over, fried it for long enough to get rid of the blood.
Served it, left a good part of it on the plate, inedible sinew.
In Scotland this is known as untrimmed frying steak.
I would guess this package is deliberately designed to disguise the fact that it is poor quality meat.
8oz of beef probably previously frozen and possibly injected with salt water.
