Alibaba Trade Assurance is a failure. I am a Gold Member and have conducted numerous transactions on Alibaba.com. After months of communications with a supplier in which I stated the standard of product desired and much back and forth discussions on the product in question, I received products that were broken, and would crumble in my hands without any effort. First tried to dispute this with the seller with no resolve so contacted Alibaba Trade Assurance. Threads of evidence and attachments were shared, months went by, I kept following up. I was asking for $1,890 for the faulty goods I paid for. Alibaba escalation team continued to ask for proof of the standard of quality. I shared more evidence of the supplier's defective goods, supplier's emails asking for payment outside of Alibaba then putting their Alibaba fees on me, and most importantly, evidence of the standard of goods I was asking for and the supplier's acknowledgement. Alibaba escalation team wrote back that there is not enough evidence so they have closed the case. In sum, I was supposed to be protected by their Trade Assurance program. They kept asking for evidence of the standard that was agreed to. If you order fruit for delivery only to receive rotten fruit, do you have had to describe fresh consumable fruit and have the seller agree to it before purchasing and have evidence of this? Isn't fresh fruit or good working materials and parts a standard that is universal when providing or expecting any goods? I did provide evidence of the damaged goods, the "standard" agreed to, and more. I had faith in Alibaba's team and program but they have proven to be substandard and will no longer use their platform. The fees paid to Alibaba and being a good standing member mean nothing against their demands and lack of upholding their promises. Their service is not worth the money. Furthermore, Alibaba asking for "proof of standard" on broken and crumbling goods purchased shows how low their bar is that they cannot uphold a common standard and share that with their buyers. PRO: Someone responded CON: Their resolution reasons and standard they hold are below average thus cannot trust that they uphold a standard of quality that buyer's should be receiving. FAILED on good products, better service, and their Trade Assurance program.
