I recently had a very disappointing experience with Auto Europe. I booked a rental car through them for pickup at Heathrow Airport. Despite holding a valid USA driver's license for more than two years—meeting all the requirements listed in their terms and conditions—I was refused the car at the rental desk. This refusal resulted in me not being able to use the service I had fully paid for.
The entire process was incredibly frustrating. I traveled for over an hour, waited 30 minutes for the shuttle, and then spent an additional 10 minutes traveling to the rental office, only to be turned away. The whole ordeal took four hours of my time, with no result.
To make matters worse, it took over two weeks to get a response to my inquiry. Instead of addressing the situation or offering a refund for the service I was denied, they simply reiterated their terms, despite the fact that my license met their stated requirements.
This situation has left me feeling very disappointed. I was initially going to ask for compensation for the time and effort wasted, but instead, I'm having to fight just to avoid being charged for a service I didn’t receive. I would not recommend Auto Europe based on this experience, as they’ve shown a lack of clarity and customer care throughout the process.
