I had an absolutely terrible experience with Auto Europe, and I want to warn others before they make the same mistake. I booked and paid for a car rental through their platform, assuming everything was straightforward. However, when I arrived at the airport with my luggage, ready to pick up my car, I was told by Hertz that I couldn’t rent the car without a return flight ticket.
This was a requirement Auto Europe completely failed to inform me about during the booking process. The first time I heard about it was when it was too late, leaving me stranded at the airport with no car, no options, and a missed appointment.
I tried contacting Auto Europe for assistance, but no one answered the phone initially, leaving me feeling completely abandoned. When someone finally did call back, their dismissive and unprofessional attitude only made things worse. Instead of helping, they blamed me for not meeting the "requirements," which I was never properly informed of.
Their response to my complaint was just as frustrating. They hid behind their terms and conditions and refused to offer a refund, even though their lack of transparency caused this whole ordeal.
Auto Europe clearly does not take responsibility for ensuring customers are informed about critical requirements. If you're thinking about booking through them, beware: their service is unreliable, their communication is unclear, and their customer support is shockingly poor.
Save yourself the stress and avoid Auto Europe at all costs.
