My vehicle was involved in a hit and run, having been insured with aviva for ten years and never having a claim, I thought they would treat me as a valued customer and pay for the repair, instead they did everything they could to find a reason to not honour the claim, it went on for four months, in which time they asked me things I shouldn’t of had to answer, did I have proof of purchase, could I prove where the money came from, proof of
My employment, their details, that was only some of the stuff they asked for the list went on an on.
Luckily I had all of the things they asked me for,
They then said oh we need a copy of the police report,
I rang the police to ask for a copy which they couldn’t find, so aviva said that without it they wouldn’t process the claim and that they had forgot to ask me for it in there previous list of
Requests luckily again the police records department found it, which I forwarded on, I kept ringing aviva to chase up the claim, repeatedly they said they would call me back, they never called back, ever,
I complained to their head office, which they admitted was way to long for there normal process
They offered me £200 pounds for the inconvenience
Which I refused,
After four and a half months
They refused to settle the initial claim
saying the accident couldn’t have happened the way I had said it had, even though I had photos of the accident.
To say I felt cheated and betrayed is an understatement
They may as well have said
“ your a liar “
I feel they did everything to avoid paying out and acted in a very unprofessional manor, not what you’d expect from such a large company.
I’m in the process of taking them to court.
Disgusting company all round
I’d never use aviva again
As long as I live
