After visiting one of Bensons for Beds stores I ordered a bed base and frame. The customer service in store was absolutely fine. Everything arrived as it should have. Within 7-8months, the white paint started to come away on the headboard revealing the brown wood underneath. To me, it looked as though the paint layer was quite thin and I can only imagine the wood may have not been properly dried out before being painted or the paint job itself had not been applied and sealed properly. The order was in my dad's name so he contacted the company with pictures and insisted that they needed to take the frame away and replace it or at least strip and repaint the frame. We were told that we had to pay for a specialist to come out and view the bed frame and confirm that it is a manufacturers fault - if this was the case they would then reimburse us for the cost of having it looked at and replace the frame. There was absolutely no mention of this ANYWHERE on any documentation we were given. After going back and forth by email (bearing in mind this was when the Covid Pandemic was at it's worst and was in lockdown) we gave up with them. They took so long to reply and would just ignore us that it became more hassle than it's worth, so I will be sanding it down and repainting it myself. I will NEVER buy from Benson for Beds again and definitely do not recommend to anyone!
