We spent £1600 on a bed from Bensons, after a lot of consideration in the store and advice from the salesperson as to what would be best for us with various back and joint problems we made our choice. Within a year the mattress is sagging, uncomfortable to sleep on and difficult to move sleeping position, we have since found out this is a common problem with Bensons beds. Bensons calls this ‘natural settlement ‘ and apparently we should have been aware, and been given information that this would happen 😳 we weren’t, and we definitely wouldn’t have brought the bed if we’d know this would happen. We though the guarantee that came with the bed would cover us, unfortunately not, their guarantee means nothing. Their solution is for the customer to pay £50 for an inspection from an ‘independent ‘ company ( employed by bedding companies) to come and inspect the bed. Our bed has two huge dents either side of a big ridge down the middle that are so bad they can even be seen when the bed is made up with a thick duvet . The inspection consisted of the man fluffing up the material covering the mattress and then dangling a piece of string across, when I pointed out the string wasn’t across where the dips were bad , he said he had to do it at a certain point on the bed 🤔 he then held a piece of paper next to the string, that apparently showed there is nothing wrong with the mattress. Bensons have told me comfort is not a consideration for their beds, I am so upset to have been ripped off in this way,
