Well.. Well.. Well.. If you have not been tracking my reviews I am the poor sod that was sold a mattress that would not fit up my stairs because it would not bend (it was so stiff).. (3 August) To recap.. Great in store salesperson. He could sell Paxo to a turkey.. My wife is disabled and we needed a firm mattress so she could sleep at night - not an excuse but a necessity. We explained what we were about, and who we were,and what we wanted - a 2 hour visit, anticipating a sale he went through it with a fine tooth comb (so we thought). He had a sale - strength 5 double sprung etc, a snip at £699, deposit of 20% (143) and the balance interest free. TWO things he conveniently forgot to mention...... (a) The strength 5 mattress we ordered is so rigid (that is the one we wanted) that it does not bend and could prove problematic with delivery (you would have thought he would have mentioned that - my wife being disabled and all). (b) The cancellation fee is IS NOT 20% of your deposit as we were led to believe it is actually 20% of YOUR ORDER VALUE (a significant difference..) You can guess the rest.. Mattress would not fit so they took it back - we cancelled the order - No refund whatsoever because our deposit amounted to 20% of the order value and not 20% of what we paid. I am out of pocket by £143 and no mattress (good job our order value was small and not a massive amount that others have posted). In between all this has been emails, letters, text messages, waiting ages to get through to customer services, rude and arrogant conversations and a total blameless attitude from them with the onus being put upon us because in our naivety about modern mattresses we should have known the technical specs and a strength 5 does not bend. And to cap it all they had the nerve to ask me to fill out a review profile of the service they provided. I sympathize with everyone who uses this review site and their experiences they have had. It is shocking and a disgrace. They are nothing more than charlatans and con artists. When you go to what is perceived as a leading player in this sector you should be entitled to be given a quality service and this bunch do not come anywhere near this. Yes I know there are other review sites that praise them but that is irrelevant, customer service is about addressing the negatives and not being dependent upon the (alleged) positives. If you want to take a chance with these people you will run the risk of your hard earned money, have stressful days and nights, arguing with your loved ones, deal with incompetence and a blazent lack of respect to others. Benson's have a serious problem and this is no joke. So.... AVOID AT ALL COSTS - YOU MAY WELL LIVE TO REGRET IT there are plenty of other retailers out there to choose from.
