Left a review before but wanted to update. Again, I wish I could leave negative stars. A quick catch up: Benson's accused us of not being home when the delivery man arrived and missing the delivery, we received a message at noon that he was to arrive at 7am that morning (5hours before we got said message) and we were asleep at that time on the floor of the living room just behind the front door (we had no bed) There was no knock on the door (we would have heard it as we were sleeping around a metre away from the front door), no message in advance at all and a redelivery charge of £20. We called to explain the situation and weren't believed by a single person representing Benson's (must have been around 5-7 different people including the manager in Bicester we were passed back and forth to and from as no one would understand or be professional and just got very offended and called us liars). This was after being assured our bed, bedside tables and wardrobe would be delivered. Our wardrobe was delivered around a month later and turned out to be extremely poor quality and after very light, gentle use is already broken (the sides are damaged from putting it together, the mirror along the doors is distorted and the doors are stuck open). On the bed front, we sent an email to the regional manager after realising speaking with the numbskulls beneath him was a lost cause and he apologised profusely and assured us that we would get the bed after all and a full refund as a gesture of good will and apology. Problems finally solved, right? Wrong. Six months later and we are still sleeping on the floor in the living room and we have been told we will now receive the bed in two months and still haven't seen a penny back on the refund front. The wardrobe is broken and we will be likely moving house around 3 months after we receive the bed so will probably donate it to charity anyway. The year it was supposed to make us comfortable in our temporary living house can now only be used for a maximum of 3 months, if it's even delivered at all. Also we spent around £1700 so it seems we have lost that as well, on top of not recieving our products and the only one we did receive being of terrible, cheap quality. I cannot, for the life of me, recommend Benson's to anyone. Unless a hobby of yours is to give large sums of money away to selfish frauds who won't give you the product you bought in return. Or a refund. In fact, the only other thing we got from them was a delivery charge of £20 (in which the furniture never even got delivered). Oh, did I mention they have a 20% cancellation fee? Conclusion: We paid around £1700 which we never saw again, was charged £20 for redelivery which never happened, was insulted and shouted at by staff, and if we want to cancel the furniture we never received we have to pay an extra £300 on top of that. And we got one sh*tty wardrobe that's already broken. Clearly Benson's and their staff just taking advantage of two 18 year olds that are moving into their first house together and don't have enough experience to realise this was all a money-grabbing scheme of injustice and trying to build their future. This set us back quite a lot of money and with lockdown we haven't been making much due to the nature of our jobs, we are now struggling with little to no money and could really do with the refund they promised us. But they clearly don't care. So yeah. Awesome.
