This company should be investigated for fraud. My father was admitted to hospital December 2022, transferred to a care home March 2023. British Gas are still deducting £360 per month from his bank account even though he hasn't lived in the property for over a year.
I have informed customer service on numerous occasions but what I have told them has been dismissed and the £360 monthly deductions continue.
Customer service advice has been laughable, their advice has been to cancel the direct debit through the bank. In the next breath they tell me debits will remain on their system and debt will accrue, a county court judgement will be taken, the bank account will be arrested, British Gas will take the money anyway.
