After many years of searching for the right mattress, and my wife complaining of back pain, I eventually found Button and Sprung as I thought it would be a good idea to move towards natural fibres. What's the point sleeping on sponge or foam and wake up sweaty? So I looked through the range and thought the first one on the list (Drysdale) was good enough. We watched the video, compared the springs and layers and eventually got the Drysdale regular. I have to say it was the most comfortable mattress I ever slept in. It seemed to envelope my body as I lay on it at night and remember how I went to sleep with a smile on my face. I know it sounds cheesy but it's true. Then after 3-4 months my wife started complaining again she has lower back pain from the mattress. I told her it must be her. It can't be the mattress because I wasn't getting back pain, and she was complaining of back pain for the last 10 years. So we stayed with it, until I also started getting back pain. Now I believed her. So we were with a mattress that was amazingly comfortable, but not supportive enough as we were waking up with back pain. So I called up the company and spoke with Dee at Customer Support. She listened carefully and said that before they decide what to do, they need to inspect the mattress, and they will schedule a Bed and Mattress Inspector to come round. I never knew there was such a thing. But after a week he did come, and really inspected the mattress. He brought instruments, strings, he measured how far down the impression go, he layed on it himself, and then wrote a report back to the company. A week later I got a call to say they got the report and the inspector found the mattress faulty. So we weren’t imagining it. I didn’t understand how a new mattress can be faulty but they explained that a very small amount of mattresses are manufactured with faults, like anything else, in which case they take it back and offer a replacement. So I thought, Great, I’ll replace it but this time perhaps with a firmer one. But then I thought, if I’m replacing, maybe I want to upgrade for a small amount. Maybe go one model up. So I checked out the videos again and compared the springs etc…and called them up to place an order. But Dee suggested I come to the show room as they have the mattresses there to try, at different tensions, and I’ll be able to compare. But I protested that you can’t lie on a mattress in a show room and get a feel for it. so she said that above the show room they have another room with beds and mattresses and you can take your shoes off and have a longer lay, a snooze if you like and take the whole afternoon to check them out. I never heard of this before. I thought I must check this out, even if just for the experience. I decided I didn’t want to make a second mistake again so I want to actually feel them. I must stress how important it is to actually feel the mattresses, and yes, you can feel the difference between them. So I went down to Fulham and was welcomed by the team. Dee paid for my parking on the road, and Adam explained everything with excitement and enthusiasm. He made me and my father a cup of coffee and the whole experience just felt great. I did end up going for one model up and the firmer tension. Four weeks later it arrived and what I loved about it is that it doesn’t have the stench of sponge and synthetic materials like the previous mattresses did. It just smelled natural I guess. My back has stopped aching and we are both getting the proper support for our backs. My wife’s back is still painful but much less and I think it’s on the mend. But she does appreciate the firmer tension and commends me on the length I went to get it right this time. As Adam said, and I will never forget it - A good day begins when your wife had a good night's sleep! Makes me smile every time. To summarise, the mattresses are 100% natural. You can’t beat that experience. Your whole body and skin just breaths properly at night. and there are so many springs that it just blows all the competition out of the water. And along with the first class products come first class service which I have rarely seen. They really do care about their products and what it can give their customers, and if something is not right, they will fix it, until you are satisfied. And you can’t beat that. And that is why I am writing this glowing review. Because they deserve it, and because I know their mattress will last for the next ten years give or take, and I will get our next mattresses from them for sure. And if something is not right, they will fix it. And you just can’t ask for more than that.
