My daughter bought me a buy a gift voucher for a two night stay in a hotel. This morning we sent three hours trying to book a hotel for the end of March which isn’t exactly peak season. We made a list of the areas and hotels where we wanted to stay. Then I tried to book them. Absolutely impossible. They either didn’t take the vouchers at a weekend or only did it in the quiet months or for certain days. . Also the vast majority of them didn’t offer breakfast. This was a total waste of our time. One woman offered me one night for the two night voucher. She said she couldn’t possibly do the end of March for two nights for the price of the voucher. So what is the point of purchasing one in the first place. We ended up looking at areas which we weren’t interested in. In the end we looked at Airbnb , got exactly what we wanted and for better value than Buyagift and booked within 20 minutes. Will never use Buyagift again. There are better deals out there which are easier to book.
