I took my SUV to Canadian Tire at McCowan and Sheppard. They had installed 4 new Michelin tires 4 months previous. My tire pressure monitoring system said that my left front whelk had 0 pressure. I thought that the TPMS might have been broken with the tire change so asked a young lady at the service desk to have the right front tire knocked down to see if there was anything bouncing around inside my tire. Instead they ran a scope around my car ($152.00) and said that 2 tire monitors were inoperative. They proceeded to mention that it would be $400.00 to change one and $650.00 to change 2. I asked to have my car back and I would reluctantly pay the not requested $150 plus bill. The shop manager interjected that that was the price like it or leave it. A shouting match ensued and I was then told that my SUV would not be available for 3 or so hours because of paper work. After speaking to the so called store manager, I called the police. The attending officer also told the store manager and ignorant shop manager to return my automobile immediately. They refused so the police officer mentioned that they would be charged with theft if the did not return my vehicle. They pulled my vehicle out, never did anything to fix my problem and I payed the $150.00 hostage fee. The attending officer advised me to contact a Lawyer about this issue. I went to Midas Muffler on Ellesmere and Birchmount 2 days later and they changed 2 tire pressure monitors for $145.00. Never use that location ever. I need 8 tires now and will not consider any Canadian Tire location after that I am 79 and thought that they wanted to reach me a lesson.
