“The staff at the front entrance in New Minas today was so warm and welcoming. Especially Casey, she made my day! She was easy to understand, well informed. Really impressed.”
“It was Dec.30,2024 they booked me for alignment and changing tire rod in canadian tire squamish. After waiting 5hrs i paid 1700$ they told me they just told me that i need to book another appointment for changing some bolt but i can go home. In the highway around 300-500 meter i felt something wrong in my car then i feel my tire was about to be removed then i stopped then decide to return it. The next day someone call me and she was blaming my driving skill etc instead of apologizing. I paid another 280$ because they need to replace again 2 parts underneath. I felt like disrespected.”
“My wife purchased a Bell and Howell rechargeable shop light for me for Christmas.
It would not take a charge and was defective. I asked to have her credit card credited for the purchase amount and they stated they could not because it was now used
I explained it was defective not used. Eventually after created a scene I got my money back. Once Canadian Tire has your money in their register you will not get a credit so they never lose a sale. They only give you a credit note.
The gentleman beside me in the lineup tried to return a hockey helmet and even though his son only tried on the helmet it was considered used and he too was refused a refund but only given a credit note.
This is a dishonest return policy and I encourage every Canadian Tire Customer to Boycott this corrupt company.
Amazon has better pricing, good return policies and are ethical.

“Went back to return lights and 1 day late and wouldn’t even consider it despite being within 7 days of purchase. Nothing wrong with the item.
Canadian Tire is horrible”
“your credit dept are the worst my card has been lock and trying to call for 4 days now with over 45 mins wait time . still didnt get anyone so i guess ill be cancelling card after 13 years”
“Canadian Tire has removed all reviews why? Likely because their products are awful and they don't want people exposing the terrible products they carry to uphold some kind of reputation they think they have? They're the dollar store in their weight class. Every time I go there I buy something foolishly to be disappointed. This store needs to go. Amazon Chinese brands make better quality products than what Canadian Tire can source.”
“Service department for Canadian Tire at Mavis and Dundas was completely disgusting. We went in to fix\check a problem for a noise which my wife kept experiencing with her Acura RDX, mostly when making left hand turns. When she called Canadian Tire by phone and explained the issue, she was recommended that we get a Steering and Suspension test (at a cost of $49.99). As she busy working I took the car into CT at Mavis and Dundas and explained to the technician at the counter that she was recommended a Steering and Suspension test, which is what I agreed to. Canadian Tire later called us to say that our car needed to have both of the front struts (suspension) replaced, which would solve our problem. I questioned this saying that how could that be as we experienced no bouncy or rough ride with the car or noticeable problems with the struts, and we had under 100,000 kms on the car. We eventually agreed to the work as Canadian Tire convinced us that this work is needed to be performed for safety reasons and it would solve the issue. Later, at the end of the day I picked up the car and while driving out of the CT parking lot I heard the same exact noise coming from the front of the car which is why we went to Canadian Tire. So the very next morming, I went back to Canadian Tire to point out that the problem was not solved. The ride of the car seemed to be exactly the same as when we brought it in, so I questioned the purpose of the strut replacements which was about $1400, and the noise was still there. They told me that the noise that they heard when the mechanic took the car for a test drive was now gone and the current noise was a second and different noise which can be solved with a simple brake maintenance which is not expensive at all. I told the Service Manager that we never heard a different noise and the reason we went in to CT is still there, since the noise is persisting. The Service Manager recommended that I return later that evening, just prior to the Managers end of shift, for us to perform a road test with him. I also told him that I come back and that I would also try and find recordings I made on my phone a few days prior of the noise so we could listen for the noises on the recording as well. After returning that evening with my wife, we performed the road test with the Service Manager and we all heard the noise numerous times which persisted, which the Manager once again confirmed could be taken care of with front brake maintenance. I also found the recordings which I had made days earlier and we all listened to them in the Canadian Tire service area. We all heard the same noises which the car was still making but no other second noise which CT says they repaired. At that point it appeared to us that the Service Manager recognized some fault on their behalf and was willing to find a solution to this situation which included a partial refund and the additional brake maintenance at extra no charge, but he told us he would need to get approval from his Boss the next business day for this.
On that next business day, I received a call from the same Service Manager but his position was now completely changed and he said that they had no liability with the worked they performed as it was agreed to in writing by their work order which I had signed prior to the Steering and Suspension check.
This is crazy in so many ways, especially since at that time we had no idea what the actual problem was and we were only following CT’s recommendations for the test. Also, it is obvious that the issue which brought us to CT was not resolved. In our opinion Canadian Tire should stand behind their services performed and provide a reasonable solution. We paid nearly $1400 for the service work which we do not see a reasonable and fair consideration for.
What a terrible place to bring your car in, I would recommend for anyone needing auto maintenance work to look elsewhere.”
“I’m writing about Windsor Ontario, Tecumseh and Lauzon location .
Today December 16th at 9:00 am. I had an appointment to get 4 new tires, not cheap. Last night I received a text saying to be there at least 15 minutes early. Arriving at 8:45 I was received with complete rudeness. The customer care person in the automotive department told me I was mistaken, he never sent me that text. After telling me to leave the store and come back at 9:00 am. I was told the text must have been from corporate .
To top things off he forgot to phone and let me know my car was ready, so I called, “I forgot to call” is all he had to say. no apology.
I hope the tires work well at least
Poor customer service by this employee.

“Poor Quality Car Battery and Disappointing Customer Service
I purchased a Motomaster car battery from Canadian Tire approximately one month ago. Unfortunately, it died unexpectedly, leaving me stranded. The battery's short lifespan is unacceptable, especially considering its premium pricing.
To make matters worse, the customer service I received was appalling. When I visited my local store to report the issue, the staff seemed uninterested and unhelpful. They offered no meaningful assistance or apology for the product's failure.”
“Went to deerfoot city to have custom keys cut. After being told to go there by country hills. Never met such rude assholes in my life. Seems that CT is over run by assholes very rude assholes”
“The store in Broadmead is not accessible with a wheelchair due to the aisles being too narrow and goods being stacked extremely high. It is very claustrophobic trying to navigate in this store. I had to leave without shopping due to the poor layout of this store.”
“Canadian Tire has removed all reviews from their website. For kitchenware, they stopped carrying many of the well known brands and started carrying more of their own in-house names. Since removing the product reviews from their website, it's now impossible to see which of their products are great anf which one are absolute garbage. For having removed the reviews from their site, I've now made up my mind and will simply buy from Amazon. It's been a great 35 years of me trusting and shopping ar Canadian Tire. Since they can no longer stand behind the quality of their products (remived reviews), I'll simply bring my consumer dollar elsewhere. Thank you Canadian Tire for making the experience of shopping at your stores a worse experience. You have done the reverse of improving; your corporate greed and coat cutting has cost you another loyal customer.”
“Canadian Tire Auto Service at 700 Lawrence Avenue West, Toronto, potentially could have endangered our lives with two serious errors! 1) A flat tire was poorly repaired and went flat again within a few hours. 2) That flat tire was repaired by plug and patch, even though the puncture was on the shoulder of the tire, contrary to industry standards and guidelines. A new tire should have been recommended. Three independent tire experts who saw the repaired tire confirmed that it was an unsafe repair and very dangerous.”
“I made a 3:30 pm appointment a week earlier with Canadia Tire Service center to change my summer tires to winter tires.
While waiting in the service sitting area my wife and I started speaking to the lady sitting beside us that made the 4:00 pm appointment that same day.
2.5 hours later, I started speaking to her and others service customers in the sitting area to see when they booked there tire appointments. I got anwers of 4, 430 and 5 pm. Then another customer said I didn't have an appointment today I just came in.
Sure enough the customer with no appointment was done first. Then the 4 pm appointment customer was done before us as well because she came in earlier then 330 pm.
So now it's 6 pm and my daughter is calling my wife to see where we are as we had to pick her up. Etc. We told her were still at Canadian Tire since 3:30 waiting for our tires to be switched.. we ended up paying for a taxi to cone pick her up and bring her home cost us 25 dollars.
Finally, job is done. I ask to speak to the manager. His name was" EARL." I told Earl I was speaking to everyone in their service waiting room and asked him. Why did your 4 pm 430 and drop off customer finish before us today that had the same work done as us. Earl said he wont let the shop sit open its first come first serve.
I said when I booked this service appointment with their advisor . I just got a new hip 14 days ago and I had to pick up my daughter at 6 pm as well will I be OK. He assured me I would be fine.
Earl and I went back k in forth for 5 minutes and at one point he riding said I don't take about your appointment or that I just got a new hip or pick up my daughter. I'm not giving you a discount for waiting for my time, for the taxi nothing... At one point Earl was so rude I asked him to slow down and BE NICE...
In closing, what I learned today about Canadian Tire Service department is they don't care about their customers time,or if their have disabilities or other appointments that day. It's all about Earl and Canadian Tire and how much they can make the shop that day.
So with my other vehicle I called CAA to change my tires and they did. Cost me 70 dollars and I didn't have to leave my driveway. I went to Canadian Tire because I dont have rims for my snowtires. Saying that I'll be buying rims next year and getting CAA to do both tires. Also so customers know Costco tires are so much cheaper because their whole house is so much bigger so they buy tires and bulk and pass on the saving to their customers. Plus rotation and balancing of tires are free for the duration of the tires life.
In closing Earl... you need to take some courses in how to speak to Canadian tires customers. Because there time matters too. Canadian Tire you should be ashamed of yourselves for treating Naive disabled people the way you did last night. So you know... your service department parked my car at the end of your lot. With my new hip it take me 20 minutes to get to it. Canadian Tire representative call or email me to discuss further I'm very upset with you and Earl.”
“I just bought an expensive sleeping bag from Canadian tire and it said I would get 18.00 dollars in CT.. Money. But that CT Money only applies to my next purchase. Well.. I don’t think that’s fair… your pushing me to wait to use it on my next purchase. I just spent 511.00 on this purchase and should be allowed to use that CT money on my big purchase and feel like I saved on that item and not have to wait till next time. I just don’t think that’s .. FAIR… you should be allowed to use whatever CT Money that comes with that purchase”
“Horrible Return Policy. If a box is opened they can do exchange only. I bought a Panasonic microwave oven, which started giving technical problem in 3 days. They did a favor to give me by issuing a store credit that expires in one year. My $350 are stuck. A golden rule: buy pots, pans, plants, pesticide or something that has lesser chances of being returned, never buy anything electronic from them.”
“Last week we were in Whitby south store. We had an employee by the name of Kurt and he was extremely helpful. He worked with us until we found what we needed. Today we went back for something else and were lucky enough to get Kurt again. What a great young man. You have hired a good guy.”
“I had a very frustrating experience at Canadian Tire, Heartland Town Centre (5970 Mavis Rd, Mississauga). On Nov 29, I was told my brakes needed repair. I returned on Dec 1, but the technician wasn’t there. The staff rescheduled me for Dec 2 at 12 PM, but when I arrived, the manager told me they didn’t know when the technician would arrive and asked me to wait.
This lack of communication and poor scheduling is unacceptable. How can staff show up without informing the manager? It wasted my time and left me feeling disrespected as a customer. I expected better from Canadian Tire.”
“I bought a dual pack of headlight bulbs for my wife's car, and after purchasing them at checkout, I started to leave the store, until a lady cashier at the next checkout yelled across at me "Did you pay for that ???" I had the item and recepit in my hand and said "Excuse me ?" She repeated her comment...so I shiowed her the item and receipt which were clearly visible. I was embarrassed by having other customers stare in my direction as if I was a thief, I was not happy with this treatment as if she wanted to know if I'd paid for items, all she had to do was ask "Excuse me sir, can I see your receipt ?" Needless to say I left the store embarrassed and annoyed at what had happened. I got my car but decided that no way was I going to accept this treatment, so I re-entered the store and spoke to a young lady, asking if I could speak to the manager. She told me that she was the manager, (Radikah), advised me that she was the manager, but to be honest, she seemed less than interested in what I had to say, and as she was talking to another employee at the time. Now, having owned 3 of my own businesses, customer service and the treatment of such, is paramount to me, the young lady who checked me through with my purchases (Toni) was very nice, but the older lady with all the make up, who basically accused me of trying to leave the store with unpaid items, was less than courteous or professional, and she is in need of retraining in due to her obvious lack of people skills, not to mention some manners and how to deal with people respectfully. I spend about $1500 - $2000 annually in Canadian Tire, but I shall take my custom elsewhere unless I hear that something has been done to rectify this situation. The store in question is the locations at: 6312 - 200th Street Langley BC I look forward to hearing from someone in authority, who can advise that this has been handled correctly, and to my satisfaction. I want nothing more than to be treated with respect, I look forward to your response. The ball is in your court.”
