Appalling.
Brilliant whilst selling cars, appalling aftercare. Avoid. Look elsewhere about reviews for carshop wakefield apart from their own page.
Bought a Mercedes CLA in Feb 2020, upon buying the car and signing for it we noticed a lot of red paint sprayed across the bumper. After asking someone to come and look at it before we drove away he couldn't understand how it hadn't been picked up on the 114point check. This was booked in for a respray and we were asked to look around the car properly the next day with it been dark and report back to them any faults, as they would get sorted when in for a respray.
Before driving away we checked the basics... The car fuel cap door wouldn't open, the guy who sold us the car had to open it with his key... So professional, and asked us to leave it open until the part came. Got in the car to drive it away, the last owners car parking tickets were in the door card. Leads us to believe this may not have had a 114point check or if it had, it was a half hearted one.
Covid happened carshop said they would reschedule at a later date.. Fair enough.
Covid lifted and we left it four weeks to rebook as we'd heard nothing.
Basically wouldn't book it in, they'd get in contact with us.
Vibration in steering wheel, bent disc.
Coolent leaking..... New themostat
Prestige car.... Nearly 20grand not had it 6 month at this point.
Booked the car in for a MOT, 4 distorted wheels and airline fracture... Fantastic. Phoned customer services AGAIN... Explained everything again, she sympathised with us and said she could see how frustrated we must be, and that it had even gone to area manager, funnily enough we've been told this now up until Nov from February. She also told us it was on the last MOT that the car had a distorted wheel and they replaced the tyre. Brilliant news nothing like masking a problem, a very dangerous problem. Phoned customer service numerous times after, now all we hear is " it is a second hand car". Wrote a review, had someone get back to us asking us to email a lady called Maggie PA of the CEO Johnathen. After hearing our case she sympiyhised with us, she told us she wanted to restore our faith, that she had children so new our concerns were right, that she couldn't make up any excuses as they'd be a lie towards our aftercare as we'd been provided with none. That she didn't like the phrase "second hand car" as she rightly told us " you wouldn't buy a second hand house and expect it to fall down". Agreed with everything we said, sat with our case Infront of her and could see how many times we'd rang that no one had got back to us, that she could only apologise it's not what their company is about. Said they needed to look into Wakefield... Asked us what outcome we wanted and she'd speak to CEO. That she'd contact us on the Friday 13th Nov. Still no call. Decided to look where I left my review on carshop wakefield service, on Google. Read a review left 2 days later about the car shops mechanics as they had a hour long footage of them abusing her car, and was sending it to watchdog. I emailed this to Maggie as it backed up our evidence towards there mechanics... They are Horrendous and UNTRUSTWORTHY.. no reply. Phoned 5 times as of Monday 16th Nov, no reply. We had already been in talks with Citizens Advise and Trading standards, this morning we were advised on our next steps. I have already spoken to a solicitor to start legal proceedings... This is a stress we do not need as a family and nearly a years worth, a concern that should have been dealt with before the car sat on the forecourt. I urge anyone to look at reviews for carshop wakefield on other sites and not their own. 4 cars I had from carpeople not one bit of trouble carshop totally different attitude towards customers... Take the money and done, never in my wildest dreams would I have thought I'd be stuck in this situation over a prestige car which for us as a family is such a luxury to have. Avoid at all costs... It isn't worth the stress on your family and the extra money these cars will cost you.
