£21,300 For a broken car!
I spent £21,300 on a 3-year-old BMW 3 Series (RE71 BUP) with 25,000 miles. I requested it to be cleaned on Saturday for collection on Sunday. When I arrived at the agreed collection time of 1 PM, I had to wait well over 20 minutes to be seen. Fortunately, Georgia noticed my frustration and assisted with the paperwork and payment. Over an hour and a half after arriving at the dealership, I finally received my car, only to find it was still dirty.
With a 4-hour drive home ahead of me, I left promptly. After getting the car up to speed (55-70 mph), it began making a vibrating and rubbing noise from the engine area. I pulled over at the next services and emailed Carshop, as they were now closed. The following workday, Daniel passed me onto the Subcon team, who booked the car into a local garage. The garage confirmed the noise and suggested it could be a transmission issue. Subsequently, Carshop booked the car into a local BMW garage 6 days later. BMW also noticed the vibration and noise and verbally advised that the car had impact damage and had likely been in a crash and poorly repaired.
Following this, I requested a full refund from Carshop. Kate then reached out to advise that they are awaiting the report from BMW before anything can be taken further and that a diagnostic check would need to be carried out. I'm unsure what the other two garages have done with the car if they haven't at least carried this out already. Currently, I'm stuck with a faulty £21,300 car with no resolution in sight. I'd avoid this business in the future as the customer care and cars aren't up to standard. I'll update my review as things progress. The bar is on the floor.
