I booked for the wrong day and immediately discovered my mistake. So I called the number on my confirmation and requested the change. They said it would cost me the difference of the day, but in looking at the website, the cost was the same. I paid for the free cancellation so I said I would just cancel and then rebook, but the rep said I could only cancel for medical-related reasons. I asked him if it was okay to cancel because I had literally just booked the ticket, and he said that discount airlines aren't required to refund within 24 hours like the big airlines and he wouldn't work with me. He told me it would be $40 extra (on a $100 ticket) but when I pushed him he said he it would only be $14. He had a thick accent so I couldn't tell if he was saying $14 the whole time or not, but when I got the reciept, the cost was the same, but there was an "additional money collected" line item that included the $14 charge. I came away feeling fleeced and like the ticket was a bait and switch. It was a horrible experience.
