I’ve always had a great experience with chewy until now. I have a 17 year old 4lb yorkie who is on prescription Medication. After my vet approved the medication, I called chewy to assure I would get it on time. When I was told of arrival time, I asked if I could pay to expedite the shipping option and I was told no and there is nothing they can do (this was Friday morning before it was shipped). Item shipped Saturday night, and will not get to me till Wednesday. I’ve called since to see if they can use my prescription on file to give me 2 days worth of medication (one single pill) until I receive my shipment. I was able to find one local pharmacy who carried it and they refused since my vet prescribed 10 pills and 10 were sent. Options were given to cancel my order and transfer the medication which will only delay me being able to get it. The pharmacist and staff are completely inhumane and like robots. I’m a healthcare provider myself and I’m beyond disgusted that
first, shipment of a medication would take so long,
second, the refusal to change the shipping option to a faster route even despite wanting to pay for it before it was shipped and
Third, to refuse to dispense a single pill (which 10 or 11 pills would make zero therapeutic difference) even though they have a prescription at hand to see that. Instead all they can provide is options which will only delay availability of the medication to a sick dog which time is the issue in the first place- zero compassion or common sense.
