Cancellations. The cancellation policy isn’t clearly stated before you book the job which i find disingenuous. The one hour ultimatum given to respond to an email after a mechanic accepts the job is an absolute joke, considering you may have already had to wait days to actually get a mechanic to accept. That’s being more money-centric, than customer focused. This appears to be calculated, and veers towards a strategy to make monies through cancellations. Moreover, charging £20 to £40. It’s all nicely hidden in the T&Cs, and included in the email after booking is accepted by the mech, whereas I have looked through the ‘how it works’ part on the website, and it is not included there. At the time the email came through for me, I was dealing with a medical situation regarding my child, hence didn’t even see the email till later that night after the mechanic texted me. I had explained my situation to the mechanic, and advised I’d have to reschedule because I had to take my child to the hospital. The mechanic asked if I’d want to cancel, and I agreed to that. Afterwards, I get a message from the mechanic asking to make £20 available due to cancellation. Mind you, same mechanic had asked to reschedule to a later day in an earlier message via the website platform. Payment Process. You are told you’d only be charged after the work has been completed. However, click mechanic made attempts to deduct funds from my bank account, even before a mechanic had accepted the job, which I was not happy with, although I understand how that system works. I usually leave little funds in the bank account, and only transfer funds to it to pay for services, hence these attempts at withdrawals made me sceptical about the process. It’s mostly about the money it appears, and for a first time user of the service, not a good experience. I was not happy mostly with the cancellation policy, as I felt it was just very crafty, so I sought a quote from a different site. I was quoted roughly £127 for a gearbox oil change on click mechanic site, who eventually took £20 from me for cancellation keeps, whereas the same job was done for £56 by an approved garage. There’s better alternatives. I have got services through who can fix my car website in the past, and they are more transparent in their dealings. I would not recommend click mechanic.
