I was at checkout and was approached by a gentleman who told me my account was flagged for an upgraded membership. He began speaking to me while checking out and interrupted my ability to check my total bill and have any interaction with the person checking me out. He then continued without allowing me to leave the check out area. I initiated moving my cart out of the checkout area and he continued. I then initiated moving my cart out of the line of traffic as he continued to talk to me there.
I felt I was being accosted and coerced into upgrading my membership. I was taken to customer service and was told that I didn’t get back even the amount of the difference in membership costs. The person who initially approached me stated that they “usually” refund the difference in memberships if I do not spend enough.
I was very disappointed in this encounter.
