I paid £20 to have my washing machine delivered yesterday with an extra £25 for the installation service as we desperately needed clean clothes for the next day.
The technician told me that he wouldn't be able to disconnect the old washing machine as the isolation tap/valve was broken and to contact a plumber to get it fixed first.
About 1 minute after the technicians left I noticed 1 adjustable foot was missing for the new machine and thought maybe it could be in the van where they had unboxed it, so I rang the technician multiple times to no avail as he kept hanging up.
Afterwards, I went to get a drink of water and as soon as I switched the tap on there was water everywhere as he didn't put the U bend back on underneath the sink (it didn't need to be fully taken off in the first place). We found that the isolation tap was not broken and that the transit bolts that the tech had removed were nowhere to be seen.
We ended up fitting the washing machine ourselves which turned out to be a nightmare and the washer was then stuck in test mode for more than 3 hours.
I rang Currys and asked if they would be able to send out an adjustable foot and their reply was that I would have to have the whole washing machine exchanged and I would be looking at Wednesday/Thursday the earliest which is no good as I work 7 days a week and already had to have the day off for the delivery of this one and so I've had to purchase an adjustable foot myself.
