I ordered a washing machine online advertised next day delivery and installation. That was the reason I choose to buy from currys. Immediately after purchase I recieved emails informing me they would be in touch soon to arrange a delivery date. Considering it was next day delivery, I thought this was odd. I emailed customer services who replied saying the item was not in stock and it could be 10 to 14 days. They then went onto say, I had not ticked the instalation box and I needed to pay £25 to complete the order. Can you believe these morons. It had free installation and delivery on their website and my confirmation email. I complained and they said, I quote, "Please note that we do state that stock errors can occur in our Terms & Conditions that can be found on our website." They refunded my money and said it can take upto 5 days.
The point is they failed to fulfil their own obligation as to what they advertised. People choose to purchase based on their misinformation. I wasn't actualy that bothered it would not have come the next day, although 14 days without a washing machine is inconvenient. What bothered me is they made an error and tried to pass that responsibility on to me, the customers. They were only interested in asking me for £25. They did not care less about the customer.When challenged they simply refunded my money rather than rectify their own error. Poor customer service. These people are idiots, do not trade with them, they dont desrve your custom, go elsewhere. They dont care about their customers being inconvenienced. I will never use them again. I reported this to trading standards, weather is does any good, I dint know, but like this post, it made me feel better. Tossers.
