I ordered an Amazon Fire TV Stick with Alexa remote, on Friday around 1pm. It stated on the Currys website that if I ordered within a certain time frame, I would be guaranteed delivery today (Saturday). I went ahead with the order ONLY because I was supposed to have it delivered today.
I received a confirmation email for my order, which stated I would receive another email when the item was dispatched. As I still hadn't received my dispatched email today, I decided to call customer services. They informed me that I wouldn't be receiving my goods today and they couldn't tell me when it would be delivered, so I told them that I wanted to cancel my order as I'd only ordered it on the understanding that it would be delivered by today. I was then informed that I couldn't cancel my order until I received my tracking number, which I won't receive until tomorrow.
After doing a little research into the matter, I have since found out that this information is totally false, as I should be able to cancel my order at any time especially since I haven't received a dispatched email.
I don't know what's more upsetting, the fact that I was conned into ordering something due to false advertising, or that customer services has lied to me by saying I can't cancel the order.
They're very quick to take the money out of your bank account, but then after that it's see you later.
I wish I had read the reviews for Currys before I ordered, as I would have just stuck with Amazon or Argos.
