CustomMade has been the most fantastic experience for me. This is a long review, but genuine so I won’t leave anything out. Background: I wanted to make a family crest and then give my family members signet rings based off of my family crest. The process starts with you just getting to talk to a team member and ask them about the process, payment, style, what you want, etc. It is an instant message process but they will shoot you and email whenever you get a response so you don’t have to keep checking in to see if they responded. They also typically always responded to me within the day - often multiple messages throughout the day if I had questions. I am extremely thorough and they matched my thoroughness throughout the process. Price: I wanted silver and gold signent ring/pendant options. I got quotes from big well known jewelry retailers, local jewelers, and CustomMade. CustomMade’s prices were cheaper by a significant margin. Process: When you are ready to start the process for-real and start working with an artist. You pay a $100 deposit and then you begin. They do not start making your ring until you are fully satisfied with their 3D renderings. Then you pay half. Once they finish your rings they send you photos of the finished pieces. You then make the other half of the payment and they ship it out to you. This process is absolutely the gold standard in my opinion. No other jeweler has this option that I found and ability to constantly tweak your design to your satisfaction and you don’t have to make appointments or anything. It is just a straightforward you work on it as you go and they take your feedback and then in a couple of days give you a new 3D rendering with your updates. Shipping: I have made 2 orders now. The first order I went through the whole process above and got 2 signet rings and a pendant of my family crest. The 2nd order went way quicker because I didn’t have to go through the design process. They just started making the pieces I asked for. I got 2 rings and 3 pendants in that order. Shipping is UPS (in my experience in the U.S.) and you have to sign upon receiving so no beed to worry about porch pirates. In my second order they had to adjust my shipping time to after Christmas which was unfortunate, but it was because one of the rings needed some fine tuning after it went to their QA team. I can appreciate wanting to send their best product even if it means they have to take longer. They don’t cut corners. Packaging: Very sleek and classic jewelry packaging. Great boxes for a gift. Overall Experience: 9.5/10 Only reason for the .5 off is I had to correct them a few times during the design phase trying to get it to my desired result, but they worked with me the entire way and again that may just be due to being almost too thorough on my end! If you are wanting a signet ring or any ring with a design of some sort on it - I wouldn’t recommend you go anywhere else. CustomMade has a fantastic process!
