My wife had a very frightening experience with a Cygnett USBA -USBC cable in her car when not in use. When driving she noticed a fire-type smell which quickly turned into significant smoke coming from the central console. Luckily there was nothing else in the console so she quickly removed it to find that it unfortunately it had been draped into the console such that the USBC plug was vertically sitting on the mat at the bottom of the console, and it had burnt a hole through the mat. The cable was only 2 years old and had been hardly used as it was for my phone in her car which I rarely drive. I want to bring it to the attention of Cygnett but it is impossible to call, email etc. From my 50 years experience in the electricity industry it is obvious that the plug must have had an internal fault for it to overheat and catch fire when not in use, and therefore would not want to nre[lace it with the same product.
