My first conversation with you convinced me that I had a firm offer priced at £330 for annual cover of buildings and contents. A week later, you contacted me again, asked the same questions and then advised me that it was up to the underwriters to judge whether my application was acceptable. The result was that it would cost me about £100 more than the earlier price. So my criticism is that I received an early, convincing, but false, indication of the result.
I would prefer you to have been more 'up-front' regarding the status of the initial conversation.
