Extremely Poor Customer Service.
Sent in a Dell Vostro 7500 that I had purchased with PROSUPPORT Plus. The laptop is still under warranty. The online service tech ran the computer through an hour of testing and diagnosis for a screen that kept blanking out and required rebooting several times. The tests revealed nothing and the battery passed all tests. On sending in the computer under the warrenty, the service techs immediately phoned me and left and email stating I needed a new battery and they would charge me a service fee in addition to the cost of the battery. I disagree. The service is under warrenty. They are trying to charge me for service I have already purchased under their PRO Support Plus plan which specifically provides for mail in support without additional fees. I called the service number and got an off-shore India serv ice rep who could only repeat that I needed a new battery. When I asked if the laptop was tested with a new battery to verify that it fixed the problem, they replied that there were no service records to that effect. Dell is NOT honoring their own service terms. This kind of lousy service should end up in a class-action lawsuit.
