Noticed a few months after owning a G5 15 5587, the laptop started getting harder and harder to shut and open. The bottom bezel started to separate from the screen and poke out when opening it as well. 3 month later I could barely open and close the laptop without feeling like something was gonna break. I've never dropped this laptop and bought it for college. Called Dell for repairs and explained that this had been an ongoing issue that only got worse with time. No damage on the outside of the laptop. Sent it in and waited forever just for them to send a billhold saying that wasn't covered by the warranty. They wanted to replace the screen, damage hinges, and back cover for almost $300. NOTHING was broken on the screen or cover! Called and explained that the laptop was never dropped or abused. They said they would call back in two day. Never heard back. Tried emailing them twice with no replies. Called and explained everything again and was transferred to multiple people. Some guy hung up on me and was rude and I had to start over again. Was told over and over that I 'DROPPED' it. Wasted hours. It's been almost a month without my laptop and it's still messed. My stepdad told me he thinks the hinges were too tight on it to began with. I need my laptop for college. They're trying to make me pay to replace stuff not needed and feels like a scam. Finally called and told them to send it back. I'm just gonna find someone else that knows what their doing but Dell is a scam and a waste of money. NEVER BUY A DELL. THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT YOU.
