I am a loyal customer at Dillard's for many years and was always very happy. I am a widow but having big family and Dillard's is my therapy. I love buying gifts for all my children and grandchildren, and other relatives. I live in Salina Kansas, where Dillards store was closed, so I am shopping at Manhattan Mall where there is Dillards store. I was always treated very good by employees there. But few weeks ago I was shopping for some birthday gifts and needed to pick up few items at the cosmetics department. When I went to that beauty department I was just shocked to see a wild behavior of three employees there. They are very young, they were on their phones listening to the music dancing ,rather inappropriate for ladies and for a business place, shaking their bottoms. One girl shook her dress so high that you can see her underwear. They were laud, laughing and talking using vulgar language( as we used to call it a talking like sailor). It looked more like a drunken party rather than cosmetics department. I approached them and ask for assistance at the Clinique counter. Yong blond girl (her name is Kaylee) came to help. At first she was nice and explained that the item i am looking for was discontinued and proposed to get new formula. I wasn't sure I am ready to buy it without trying it first and asked her to make me a sample,, and also asked some questions about the difference of the foundation. But this is when she became very irritable and was answering short and rather rude. Its hard to explain her tone and the manner of communication, but she was irritable because I was asking so many questions. Finally, when I was leaving, I heard how she told the other girls: "This woman is F****g bitch". Wow!!! I was never treated lie that by anyone in any retail store. That day I promised myself I will never come back to dillard's. Few days later my sister insisted to go to Dillards to buy something for her grandchildren. we passed by cosmetics and the same girls were there. Same behavior, faul language, laud laughter. Shocking!! Where the class and style of old Dillard's disappeared? What happened? where do you find people like that? Where is the department and store managers are? Don't they see what is going on in their store? My sister told me that i have to talk to a store manager. Unfortunately , the store manager wasn't there, and I decided to write her an email. This Monday I wrote am email to Dillard's at Manhattan TOwn Center and described my unpleasant and horrible experience. To my surprise I never received an answer from the manager with some apologies. None. I decided to stop at dillard's yesterday to talk to a manager but she already left. I went to see if there some changes in behavior at cosmetics department, and the same girls are still there (Kaylee, Ashley and Lexi), one with inappropriately short dress is flirting with a male customer, another one on her phone and smiling to the screen, and third (the one who called me f** bitch), saying something laud to the other girl and both laughing. I remember days when dillard"s stores where so nice, with the nicest people working, with great customer service. Dillards stores always were class and style. Not anymore. Of course, there are still nice ladies at Manhattan Dillard"s, and in the cosmetics department. I finally decided to to that department one more chance, and to ask for help a lady almost my age. I don't remember her name because its unusual, she speaks with an accent. This lady was very professional, patient and very helpful. I will definitely shop at cosmetics but ONLY with that one woman. Also want to mention ladies from women's clothing - Becky, Ruth, Virginia, those ladies always are very helpful. Really hoping that Dillard's store in Manhattan will find much better people to represent their company company, real professional , polite, caring.
