After worrying a little at the absence of updates on tracking, the delivery status was changed to "delivered", with a photo of my parcel outside a front door. Except that this was not my front door and it had been sent to the wrong address.
The website delivery states explicitly that a photo will be taken with the door OPEN (to ensure it is the correct address, not just chucked outside). Even these basic instructions were not followed.
When I politely followed this up with DPD, they replied the driver "might look into it, if they had time". The package was quite expensive and ordered with priority delivery. The driver did not follow this up at all, and the package was eventually delivered to me (kindly) by the householder of the wrong address, who had half-opened the packaging before realising the mistake.
A nefarious individual would have withheld the parcel, and it's pretty likely DPD would have not cared at all or attempted to follow up their mistake/offer a refund. Extremely poor service.
