I attempted to have a large item delivered via DPD to my home. The driver arrived late, pulled up in front of the house and then turned around and left. I then recieved a message saying I wasnt in and that I now have to collect my parcel from a DPD parcel shop of their choice. As its large item its going to be nightmare to get home as parking around that shop is terrible and a good distance away.
The customer service chat tried to help but couldn't do anything but say it would go to the shop.
I get it if I am not in, but I waited in specially for the parcel (which was late) and to now have to take more time away from work to collect it is a massive kick in the teeth for an apparently "reliable" delivery company.
