Subject: Urgent Complaint Regarding Failed DPD Delivery
Dear DPD Customer Service,
I am writing to express my extreme dissatisfaction with the recent delivery service provided by DPD. On Friday 26th January I had a scheduled delivery between 4:20 PM and 5:20 PM, and unfortunately, the experience was far from satisfactory.
The DPD app consistently indicated that my delivery was imminent, displaying countdowns from 30 minutes to 15 minutes, and so on. As a business owner, I had to open my shop specifically to receive this delivery, leaving my elderly mother, who suffers from dementia, under the care of a neighbour .
Moreover, a message from DPD’s head office had instructed the driver to call 30 minutes before delivery, which was not adhered to. As I monitored the app, I eagerly awaited my turn as the 111th delivery, with the 110th being completed. However, at 6:10 PM, to my disbelief, a message popped up stating that the driver had missed me, and the delivery would be rescheduled for Monday.
This is not the first time I’ve encountered such issues with DPD, and I can only assume this is a common practice, particularly on Friday afternoons. It is disheartening to think that if a driver wishes to conclude their rounds quickly, they simply mark deliveries as missed, inconveniencing customers like myself. In previous delivery’s by DPD I have even received misleading messages stating that the driver called when I was supposedly not at home.
This level of service is both appalling and dishonest. If DPD anticipates difficulties in delivering within the specified time frame, it should update the app accordingly, preventing recipients from wasting valuable time and resources. I am curious to know how frequently such incidents occur for other customers.
I expect a prompt and thorough investigation into this matter, as well as a resolution that ensures such instances are prevented in the future. As a loyal DPD customer, I hope for an explanation and reassurance that steps will be taken to improve the reliability of your delivery services.
