I tracked my delivery on the app throughout the day and was deliberately sitting close to my front door so not to miss the driver. When my delivery number was 3 away, I got a sms with a pin code to repeat to the driver. At the same time the message arrived, the app updated and claimed that "the parcel could not be delivered as the receiver could not provide a valid code". No one knocked on my door or even entered the close.
Trying to actually speak to someone using the contact page on the website is absolutely pointless. Everything is a chat bot or a recorded message when you call DPD, with no option to transfer to a live person.
It's bad enough that the delivery driver is being dishonest, it's even worse that DPD deliberately make it impossible to be contacted. It leaves you with no real option to find out what is going on.
