I sold a antique sterling silver flask. It was exactly as described. It sold for $189. I don’t offer refunds and had a 100% rating for over 10 years. Buyer claimed not as listed. Value in scrap was over $189. eBay contacted me and basically said accept return or it may effect your rating. I offered the return minus the $7.15 shipping charge both ways. I immediately called eBay and spoke with their representative and he assured me I was doing the right thing. He never explained that it was considered a partial refund and she would get her money back AND keep the item! An hour later I got a notice that she accepted my offer and would keep the item. I spoke with several customer service representatives, all agreed it wasn’t right. All agreed to escalate the matter to appeals. Appeals came back with the decision that matter is closed and nothing more can be done.
I’ve been reading all the horror stories on this site. Wished I had read them before I offered this women any refund at all. eBay collects your fees and that’s it! Oh did I mention they kept their selling fees on the item? That was over $20 to boot. Stay clear of the buyer/seller naples4ever, her name is Susan Cardinale and stay clear of eBay!
I wish all those that gave that advise would say what selling site they now use.
