I purchased an item on ebay and because the seller stated "Fast Delivery 3-5 Days" and a "14 Day No Hassle Return Policy" I bought the item. After waiting 10 days and no delivery and several communications with the seller I cancelled the order "Not as Described" "Fast Delivery 3-5 Days". I invoked my "14 days no hassle return" option only to be told by the seller they would not refund until they had the item returned to them. The seller was blaming the courier"Aramex" and even though the courier had not delivered after a further 2 days, 12 in total, the seller would not refund. I raised the dispute with ebay and they went in favour of the seller because on the 13th day Aramex stated they had attempted to deliver and no one was home. They said a card was left but refused to produce the photo evidence. We were on a State Government Covid Health Order to stay at home so Aramex had lied about attempting to deliver as all occupants were at home to comply with the health order. Clearly the Aramex courier is not the sharpest tool in the shed. I asked ebay to review because the seller had not met their delivery guarantee and even Aramex tracking proved this. This second reviewer followed the first reviewer and would not give the refund. The seller had already agreed to giving a refund but only after the item was returned to them because they agreed the 3-5 day delivery time had not been met and also because of their 14 day return policy. What has happened is that the ebay reviewers refuse to acknowledge and respond to the 3-5 day delivery guarantee and the 14 day no hassle return policy listed by the seller even though they are both clearly stated on the sellers item description. The issue is unclear as ebay will not state why they do not acknowledge the sellers conditions so the answer is do not trust the ebay returns guarantee process. Go to PayPal as they do acknowledge any claims/guarantees stated by the seller and will enforce refunds if it can be shown that the seller has not complied with their conditions of sale. Always use PayPal when you buy goods on ebay.
