I am beyond disappointed with @EE for illegally retaining an account that was opened without my consent and against my instructions to close it down. This has caused significant damage to my credit score and despite my best efforts, I have been unable to rectify the issue.
I want to remind everyone that under the Data Protection Act 2018 (DPA) and the Consumer Credit Act 1974 (CCA) it is illegal for a company to retain personal data or open a credit account without permission. The Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) also requires creditors to promptly act on customer instructions and correct any errors in credit files. I have reported this issue to Transunion with complaint case reference 1458762 and have been ignored.
I am now forced to consider legal action against @EE for their unethical and potentially illegal behavior. I am urging the company to take immediate action within 72 hours to rectify this situation, update all credit bureau agencies of the errors and ensure this does not happen again. I am requesting confirmation of the steps taken to close the account and rectify the errors in my credit file and any compensation that I may be entitled to.
