On Monday the car I was renting had a system failure where the car just shut down on me. I understand things happen after sitting in a car for four hours in 100 degree heat I finally got towed to Tampa's car rental return. I requested to be given a similar car which is essential to my work. I understand that it's not always so easy to find suitable replacements especially given the recent flooding we had in Florida. I called every enterprise from the local and surrounding areas, and had no luck. As of yesterday I am paid up all the way to Saturday, and you think that would mean something it doesn't. Yesterday I found two cars that fit what I was looking for I was told one was on hold until 4pm, and the other until 5pm. I showed up five minutes after 4pm, and was told a different story by the same person that they give the customer an hour after the appointment to get the car before renting it to someone else. Because my phone number, and name is already in the system I've been placed on extensive hold times to avoid talking to me, and I have been hung up as a paying customer that's terrible service from a company who says on their automated system that they make it their goal to ensure every customer has a great experience, and they promise to put you first to go the extra mile. I was told they would make it up to me for being broken down on the side of the road for four hours in 100 degree weather i got compensated for one day which I'm grateful for, but I'm unhappy with the runaround I have been getting trying to find an adequate replacement vehicle.
