As electrical contractors my business don’t fit many ev charging units as we are busy enough with other lines of electrcial work. After being asked to supply and fit an Eo mini pro2 by a regular customer we agreed. An order was placed through our regular wholesaler, unit arrived. On Monday, we installed the charger and Garo enclosure. Only after installing the unit and trying to set up for the customer did we find out that for the charger to be of any use at all, I have to become an EO approved installer by completing online training, supplying qualifications to EO and also bank details etc to open a customer account. I have no intention of fitting any other EO units and this would be a pointless exercise. NOT ONCE does it say anything about having to be an installer to fit and commission them when actually ordering the unit or on any of the boxes or instructions. If that is the case, the units should only be supplied direct from EO to there approved installers. It now puts me in the position of spending several hours doing training and sending over paperwork to complete a job that should take half a day. I am effectively now doing the job for FREE.
