this is one of those barista tools that nobody seems to have perfected. after searching for a shot glass that made sense, I landed on this one which might be the best I found yet. all the shot glass needs to do in my opinion is not dripped down the side after pouring. this requires two things: a spout that overhangs a bit, and a spout that's large enough. this one nails it in the first category, it does overhang which lessens the likely hood of dripping down the side and leaving that ring of espresso anywhere you set the glass. but it doesn't quite have a large enough spout so that the coffee is really just trying to pour over the rim of the glass which makes it want to drip down around the sides of the spout. the shot glass would be perfect if the spout was wider and dipped further below the rim. we have drip coffee decanters that do this well but we still have yet to figure it out for espresso decanters.
