I had a low cost car policy on an 'occasional-use' car with esure. The car developed a fault which rendered it not worth repairing. Broke the car and cancelled the policy - received a £55 cancellation fee - just under 1/3rd of the annual premium! I don't object to a reasonable cancellation fee but this is way too high. Further, as £24 was left outstanding they asked me to call customer services (at 5p per minute!) to arrange payment (this was the the only option given). After 15 minutes holding I gave up and am awaiting to hear how else I can pay. I shall ask for the cost of the call to be refunded.
